What Killearn Acres homes are dealing with

Killearn Acres sits in the northeast part of Killearn Acres, and a lot of the roof stock out here reflects the era it was built in, mid to late century construction with moderate to steep pitches and asphalt shingle roofing that’s been replaced at least once by now on most lots. Original framing and decking on homes from that period wasn’t built with today’s underlayment products or ventilation baffles in mind, so when we open an attic on a leak call we’re often working around older insulation, undersized soffit vents, and roof decking that shows its age even when the shingles on top look fine from the street.
