That’s a different job than a repair or a guard retrofit, and it starts the same way every time – with measurement.

We measure roof plane by roof plane, not by a flat linear-foot guess. Every slope gets sized to the runoff it actually handles, factoring in valleys that dump two roof planes’ worth of water into one section of trough. From there we set hanger spacing based on the load that section will carry. A run under a pine canopy gets tighter hanger spacing than a clear south-facing slope, because wet needles and cone debris add weight standing water alone doesn’t.

Downspout placement gets decided on-site, not off a plan. We look at where your grade actually falls, where a splash block or extension can run water away from the foundation without crossing a walkway or a neighbor’s line, and where the existing tie-in points are so we’re not opening up soffit or fascia we don’t need to touch. Where we’re tying new gutter runs into an existing section, or into a covered porch or carport roof, that transition gets flashed and lapped correctly so it doesn’t become the leak point six months later.
